PRESENTATION TYPES
  • ORAL (refers to abstracts accepted for oral presentation at the podium in dedicated free paper sessions)
  • POSTER (refers to abstracts accepted for poster presentation on the exhibition area at dedicated poster sessions during break times)
THEMES FOR SUBMISSION

Abstract theme for submission should be based on the conference theme of “Expanding Horizons Together in Hearing and Balance Care”.

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. The Abstract Review Committee will not be responsible for any errors published.
  • Abstract text: Arial, 11 point, full justified, and single line spacing.
  • Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations, spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts that may be submitted by an individual. However, splitting of a body of work into multiple abstracts is discouraged.
  • No changes can be made after authors have submitted their abstracts.

PREPARING AND FORMATTING YOUR ABSTRACT

Author's Name Please write the names of authors one after another separately, starting from the first author.
Please indicate a superscript to relate the name with the appropriate affiliation it several attiliations are necessary to be written for the several authors.
It is preferred to use the "Initial" for your middle name.
Affiliation Please write the full name of affiliation including the department using abbreviations of Univ. (University), Hosp. (Hospital), Dept. (Department).
Please indicate a superscript to relate the name with appropriate affiliation if several affiliations are necessary to be written. If there are only one affiliation with several departments, please write down one affiliation with several departments using the superscript.
Presenting Author Type the Presenting Author's name.
Presenting Author's E-mail Type the Presenting Author's e-mail.
Presenting Author's Mobile Number Type the Presenting Author's mobile phone number.
Title Limit to 200 characters including spaces in UPPER CASE.
Body Graphs or tables are not allowed.
Original research must be written in four sections - Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Original Research: maximum 300 words.
Case Report: maximum of 200 words with no classified format.
Corresponding Author Please write the name of the author who has the primary responsibility for the presented abstract.
Corresponding Author's E-mail Type the Corresponding Author's e-mail.
Corresponding Author's Mobile Number Type the Corresponding Author's mobile phone number.
Country Select the Corresponding Author's country.
Consent to Publish If the abstract is accepted, permission must be given for the abstract to be included in the conference proceedings.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

  • Abstracts must be submitted at sharon@pso-hns.org
  • Submissions must be as a Microsoft word file.
  • A confirmation that the abstract has been received will be sent through e-mail with an allocated submission number. Please refer to this number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
  • Notification regarding the status of the submitted abstract will be sent once the review process is complete.
  • Upon notification of acceptance, the author/presenter will be given until 04 October 2024 to register for the conference in order to ensure that the abstract will be included in the final program. In case the presenting author of accepted abstracts will fail to register by the registration deadline, the abstract will be automatically withdrawn from the final program.
  • The Abstract Review Committee will endeavor to schedule abstracts according to authors’ preferences but reserves the right to decide on the final form of presentation.
