The nasopharyngeal swab test to collect specimen for the COVID-19 RT-PCR test is the GOLD STANDARD in detecting the virus in the nose.
The test is quick and safe, but if you have a history of prolonged nasal blockage, frequent nose bleeding, a tumor or previous surgery in the nose, sinuses, or brain, please consult with an Ear, Nose, Throat (Otorhinolaryngologist) – Head and Neck specialist before undergoing a nasopharyngeal swab.
