March 13, 2020
TO: ALL FELLOWS
Greetings!
This past week has seen an escalation of events related to COVID-19. The Philippine Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, cognizant of the importance of adherence to public health policies and mindful of the health and safety of our fellows, their families and communities, had postponed last Sunday, March 8, 2020 the Leader’s Summit which was to have been held during the last week of this month. Unfortunately, the situation and solutions to this virus related problem continue to remain fluid. With this in mind, we are also cancelling the Midyear Convention scheduled this May. We understand that extensive preparations have already been made with regards to this event. However, these preparations will serve us well as we hold the Midyear Convention 2021 in Tacloban City.
In addition, we are cancelling all society initiated and sponsored activities (e.g. research contests, postgraduate courses, workshops) that are scheduled until May.
With regards to the Annual Convention to be held in December, we are hoping that the situation will have improved by then. We continue with our plans for this event but will revisit this decision as needed.
We thank everyone for their patience, understanding, and support during these challenging times.
Rest assured, we remain #One PSOHNS
Very truly yours,
Philippine Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
