José Florencio F. Lapeña, Jr., AB (Honours), MA, MD, FPCS, FPSOHNS, FPAHNS will deliver a keynote speech on “Open Access: Perceptions and Misconceptions” on September 4, 2019 at 1:30PM to 3:00PM during the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Editors Convention (APAME2019 Convention) in Xi’an City, China. Dr. Lapeña is the Chair of the Philippine National Journal Selection Committee, Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Charter President of the Philippine Association of Medical Journal Editors, Past President of the Asia-Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors, and Director of the World Journal of Medical Editors.
Dr. Lapeña is a Professor of Otolaryngology and former Vice Chancellor, University of the Philippines Manila. Amongst his numerous credentials, Dr. Lapeña is an Attending Otolaryngologist at the Philippine General Hospital as well as University Scientist III and One UP Professorial Chair in Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (Craniomaxillofacial Surgery) for Outstanding Teaching and Research in UP Manila. He has special interest in pediatric cleft and aero-digestive surgery, medical education, mentoring, writing and peer review.
